Biafra day killings: Buhari, Nigerian army are candidates of ICC – Ohanaeze youths

Biafra

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has condemned the reported killing of some pro-Biafra activists on Monday during a clash with security operatives in some parts of Anambra and Delta States.

In a statement jointly issued on Tuesday by Mazi Alex Okemiri and Comrade Obinna Achuonye, the chairman of all states chairmen and the National Vice President, Imo State, respectively, they accused the Nigerian Army of killing innocent civilians.
They warned that the Nigerian Army “is obviously crossing the boundary by its reckless killing of unarmed pro Biafran protesters in the
East. The Nigerian Army is making itself a candidate for trial at the International criminal court at the Hague for its crime against humanity.
“How can soldiers enter a church and mow down worshipers, even if they are celebrating Biafra? How can they desecrate the House of God? Are we at war? Do they want to provoke another war? Is Nigerian Army now an ethnic Army? Let Nigerians be told that what we now have is Hausa- Fulani Army and not Nigerian Army so they would know how to protect themselves. This criminal killings can no longer continue. President Buhari must call the Army to order or he will also be a candidate for the Hague.
“This same Army responds to any alarm by armed Fulani herdsmen as it happened at Awgu, Enugu state last time when soldiers of the Nigerian Army abducted 76 innocent villagers and locked them up at Umuahia in Abia state because Fulani herdsmen invited them. The men were searching for two women from their village abducted by Fulani Herdsmen when Nigerian (Hausa Fulani) Army abducted them.‎
“With the posture of this so-called Nigerian Army, we are unfortunately inching forward to possible anarchy and even civil war unless something is done urgently. There must be respect for human life in this country and President Buhari is not showing that he values life.
“Igbos have lost a lot of life to keep this country going. They cannot afford to continue doing so. We warn that if we are pushed to the wall again, this country will be be in complete coma that will affect everybody. Enough is enough.”
In another development, the OYC has advised Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State to beware of some people “who have been parading themselves as the Youth leaders of the body in the state and promising to endorse him for re-election. This same people go about defrauding other high profile people in the state.
“There is only one Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council led by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike. Any other person of persons purporting to be so is an impostor.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo is not a political party and does not endorse politicians.
“Finally, we restate our support to the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Gary Igariwey and Dr Joe Nwaorgu as President-General and Secretary -General, respectively.‎”
