Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he “had a vision”, he would score the winning penalty, as Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.

The Portugal captain scored the winning penalty in the fifth round of the shoot-out, after the game finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Ronaldo says he specifically told coach Zinedine Zidane, to allow him take the final of Real’s initial five kicks.

“I had a vision. I knew I was going to score the winning goal,” he said on Spanish TV.

“I asked ‘Zizou’ to let me take the fifth penalty because I was going to score the winning goal.”
